Loop Hikes
Linking people with nature by footpath along Lake Superior's North Shore.
These hikes start and end at the same point without any backtracking. Not all of these hikes are totally on the Trail. The Guide to the Superior Hiking Trail has more information.
Gooseberry State Park - Up one side of the river to the bridge and back down the other. The state rest area has maps of the park.
Split Rock River Loop - Up one side to the bridge and back down the other. Starts at the Split Rock River Wayside. This section is one of the most popular sections for first time trail users. It features several waterfalls and rapids.
Crosby Manitou State Park - The state park has several loops. Follow the Trail to the SHT bridge and see the Manitou Cascades.
Caribou Trail - From the SHT parking lot along spur trail past White Sky Rock to Lake Agnes, then back along the Trail to Caribou Trail and hike on the road back to the car.
Cascade River State Park - Follow side trails to Lookout Mountain, then return by Hiking Club trail along the river.
Pincushion Mountain - Follow SHT either way around the loop trail.
